This project, designed by Ingennus Urban Consulting, includes a total of 36 apartments of 1 – 4 bedrooms, distributed in 3 floors and an attic. The ground floor will be used for commercial purposes; and the two basements will serve as parking and storage rooms respectively. Every apartment has one living-room, a kitchen, a big terrace and two bathrooms, except for the one-room apartments, which are equipped with only one bathroom.

The Building is divided into two different spaces, aiming to optimize the plant layout, to improve energy efficiency and to reduce residual spaces.

This complex complies with the Passive House Standard, and it goes one step further than the Net Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB), which, according to EU legislation, will be of mandatory use by the end of 2020.

Gestión Residencial Habitare, the financial cooperative.

Gestión Residencial Habitare is a cooperative based in Bilbao whose work focuses on the development and promotion of housing facilities on a Limited Liability cooperative basis. Its advantages are those of every cooperative, that is, price optimization and house customization, adapting the facilities to the needs and preferences of the members of the cooperative.

Passive House Standard.

The Passive House Standard establishes the construction systems and methods to be applied on the design of affordable, energy-efficient buildings. Besides saving energy, the main advantages of this system are the reduction of the building’s environmental impact and the increase of the apartment’s internal comfort both in summer and in winter.

This standard is essentially based on the following principles: optimization of termal insulation, abscence of termal bridges, building envelope tightness, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and highly beneficial windows and doors.
